DOGS!

We have had a complaint that dog owners are not cleaning up after their dogs defecate.  Please be courteous and clean up after your dogs.  Please contact a board member or Fairway Management if you see this activity.

LOCK YOUR CARS!!!

There were numerous car "break ins" in Auburn Lakes on March 14.  The last "break in" resulted in finding the keys to one of the vehicles parked in the driveway locked in the glove compartment.  The stolen vehicle was driven to Clubhouse Park (as best we know).  After spinning donuts in the field between the park and school, the vehicle came to rest after plowing down the speed limit sign and uprooting a fairly sizeable Oak near the park exit lane.  The driver, who deputies said had to be injured, fled the scene and was not found.  The vehicle was totaled.  There were several GPS systems found in the stolen vehicle that had been removed from other vehicles near the home where the vehicle theft occurred.  The stolen vehicle's owner had two cars parked in the driveway, neither were locked.  The keys to the stolen vehicle were locked in the glove compartment of the 2nd vehicle in the driveway.  Reports we have say that none of the vehicles in the neighborhood that were robbed, were locked.

LATEST INFO FROM VIERA EAST CDD: A synopsis of the VECDD meeting conducted on 10 Sep.  This was a passionate meeting in that several visitors had a lot to say and lined up at the microphone to ask the board their questions.  The meeting lasted more than two hours and was attended by more than one hundred VECDD members.

Vincent Annella, board chairman, opened the meeting with an overview of the VECDD board responsibilities.

He discussed the current greens upgrade at the golf course and the success of that program.

The budget was next and the reasons were discussed that caused the increase in tax assessments.  Currently it looks as though our assessments will increase $64.67 per home to offset the loss of revenue from the golf course.  The board projects a return to profitability for the remainder of 2010 and 2011.  In addition, the board has held the line on green fees and prepaid fees, plus they provided assurance that all 4200 homeowners of the VECDD would receive a 10% discount on green fees, merchandise, and restaurant purchases.
